Earlier this year when she got cast to play one of the four lead roles in Star Cinema’s Metro Manila Film Festival entry Love At First Stream, actress Kaori Oinuma said it was the biggest break in her acting career since joining showbiz three years ago.

Hindi ko rin alam kung bakit kami yung nandirito ngayon pero sana yung mga manunuod sa amin bigyan niyo kami ng chance na mapakita sa kanila kung gaano kaganda itong proyektong ginawa namin, Sobrang grateful and blessed ako na meron akong ganito at nakabuo ako ng bagong pamilya,” she shared during the Love At First Stream mediacon.

In the film, Kaori plays the role of girl-next-door Megumi. She is also paired with new love team partner Jeremiah Lisbo after Rhys Miguel had to bow out of the project earlier this year for personal reasons.

“Ako dito yung loyal and supportive friend and cousin ni Vilma (played by Daniela Stranner). Meron ng nabuong friendship sa amin so siguro nung nasa set kami mas na-build up siguro lalo,” she admitted.

The Fil-Japanese actress also shared her most memorable moments on and off camera with veteran director Cathy Garcia-Molina.

Pero habang tumatagal, pag halimbawa off the set, napakakalog ni direk. Sobrang barkada kami. So work is work. Pero off the set naman lahat bonding talaga

“Si direk Cathy all around eh. Flat! Flat yung buhok akin na yung suklay.’ Siya na lahat. All around si direk grabe. Siya yung nanay namin dun, katawanan, barkada,” she revealed.

Although she admitted there is pressure on them to deliver for Star Cinema, Kaori said her co-actors and production team gave her the confidence and support to do her best.

Kasama ko mga kapatid ko dito, si direk Cathy, and parang pag-iisipin mo na makakapagpasaya ka ng mga tao ngayong Pasko, parang mas gumagaan yung pakiramdam ko and excited din ako para dito,” she admitted.

During the Love At First Stream mediacon, Kaori also shared why she prefers live streaming over vlogging. And parang mas alam mo yung sasabihin mo kasi minsan nagtatanong sila, may gusto silang malaman and madali nilang masabi kung ano yung i-si-share mo,” she added.

Featuring an original soundtrack from P-pop supergroup SB19 titled “No Stopping You,” the Star Cinema and Kumu co-production Love At First Stream will premiere on December 25, Saturday, along with other MMFF entries this year. Starring Daniela Stranner, Kaori Oinuma, Anthony Jennings, Jeremiah Lisbo, Agot Isidro, Pinky Amador. Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.
