As one of the stars of the pilot project between ABS-CBN and global streaming service iQiyi, Gerald Anderson said he was excited to work on the new series Hello, Heart with singer-turned-actress Gigi De Lana.

“First of all I was excited kasi yung character ko bilang si Saul is a character that I’ve always wanted to play. He’s a business tycoon and it’s a dynamic character and nung sinabi nila na si Gigi yung makakasama ko siyempre rinesearch ko agad sa YouTube and yung videos niya na kumakanta. For some reason, it always works pag ganun eh. Pag fresh at bago yung tandem, it excites me because it’s another challenge for me bilang aktor and it’s exciting for the fans,” he shared during the ABS-CBN Entertainment and Iqiyi.com partnership launch media conference last November 23.

In the new romantic comedy series, Gerald is an emotionless, business-as-usual guy who hires a beautiful and hardworking woman named Heart to pretend to be his wife in order to please his grandmother who has dementia. Saul, being doubtful of Heart at first, decides to watch her every move until he finds himself falling for her.

“I think at the end of the day, yung production na nakasama namin is from ABS-CBN and kasama ko din sila sa past shows so I was very comfortable. Parehas kami ni Gigi. Kumbaga parang kaming pamilya na nandun. I think the difference now is yung platform which is in 191 countries. That’s amazing. Talagang international levels na. We’re really very blessed and maganda na nakasama ko yung production na I’m comfortable with and we’re just trying to do our best,” he admitted.

“You can’t eh. Hindi mo talaga ma-ki-create yan. Lalo na sa sitwasyon ni Gigi dahil it’s her first time to act. All you can do bilang partner niya is to make her as comfortable as possible. Siyempre we’re in a very high pressure, sensitive, and vulnerable environment. Kailangan lang comfortable siya and then let the rest happen. Sa awa ng Diyos naging okay naman. Nag-enjoy kami and we feel like we made magic. I’m always open sa ganung tandem kasi it’s something fresh,” he explained.

“ABS-CBN would be so proud of her but her fans sobrang magiging proud sa kanya kasi mapapanuod siya sa YouTube yung ginagawa niyang pagkanta and ito yung ibang platform and she’s outstanding. And not just because of the performance but yung effort na binigay niya, yung passion na binigay niya, yung puso. Alam mo talagang she cares for this and malayo pa ang mararating niya sa platform na ‘to. Yung mga fans ni Gigi please abangan niyo siya duito. She worked so hard dito para sa inyo and sana abangan niyo at pinaghirapan din ng maraming tao ito,” he added.
