After six rounds of challenges and runway presentations, Drag Den Philippines has crowned its very first Drag Supreme during the season finale episode last Thursday, January 26. NAIA bested all other drag queens in the competition and became the winner of the very first season.

The Drag Supreme’s coronation was held during the viewing party wherein Drag Lord Manila Luzon, who flew back to the country for the finale, was present. As the winner, NAIA will take home ₱1,000,000 worth of prizes.

NAIA’s win has been a historic one for the franchise as she never had the opportunity to be ranked first place throughout the season. However, she was consistent in being one of the frontrunners of the competition.

During the season finale, the top three queens (Shewarma, Maria Christina, and NAIA) had to walk the runway for one last time while they donned their national costumes and evening gowns. NAIA wore a farmer-inspired national costume and a very detailed evening gown which wowed the judges.

They were judged by Manila Luzon, Nicole Cordoves, and the five other queens of the show who were previously eliminated.

The three also had to battle it out through a lip sync performance of “Kilometro” by Sarah Geronimo. Shewarma, Maria Christina, and NAIA had to answer the final question of the season, “What is the one and only one quality that makes you the true Drag Supreme?”

The Drag Den Philippines season one winner shared her journey as a Drag queen for her answer.

“I’ve stumbled and I’ve gone through so much hardship, especially in this competition, and Manila you’ve opened my eyes to what drag can truly be,” NAIA said in response to the final question.

NAIA continued to share that she wants the younger generation of Drag artists to become inspired by her work.

“It is freedom of expression and I can’t be more happy to be here. I hope that my story inspires young queer artists who are afraid of putting themselves out there because I was afraid. But thank you, Manila, for giving me this platform because I was able to prove that growth is what you need to become the next drag supreme,” she added.

Drag Den Philippines was supposed to be the first-ever drag reality show in the country as it was announced back in July 2021. However, Drag Race Philippines aired months before the first episode of Drag Den Philippines was released.
