Piolo Pascual revealed that he had planned to retire from the showbiz industry before he turned 40 years old. The actor is now 45 years old and has retracted his previous statement on his retirement plans.

The Flower of Evil actor had the opportunity to this last July 3 at the press conference for Sun Life Philippines. Even if he is financially stable already, he has no plans of quitting just yet as his passion for the arts is what keeps him going.

“I guess I was being immature [and] feeling burnt out back then, you can call it midlife crisis because you’re too loaded up with work,” he clarified.

The 45-year-old actor also shared that he discussed things with Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina, who has worked with him for many years already. Recently, the two worked together on the Filipino sitcom, My Papa Pi, along with Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.

“[Direk Cathy] just signed with ABS-CBN for a couple of years. I told her, ‘Direk, huwag na tayong magsasabi ng retirement kasi parang hindi rin naman natutuloy.’ For me, this is my passion," Piolo shared.

Piolo has already proven himself to be one of the few versatile actors who can act in any role given to him. He is at the point of his life wherein he could already retire given that he is already financially stable thanks to the insurance policies that he invested in.

However, Piolo couldn't just shy away from acting as it acts as his fuel and according to him, he plans to continue sharing his life and talents with everyone.

“At this point in my life, I just want to continue doing what I’m doing and this is something that I really appreciate, being in this business, being in front of you guys, and just sharing my life. As long as I feel that I’m needed in this business or there is something that I can contribute and I will stay on," he said.
