Fans and even celebrities were thrilled after photos of Piolo Pascual and Lovi Poe for their upcoming series Flower of Evil were revealed on Monday, November 22.

The two were seen getting cozy while dressed as their characters during their first pictorial for the highly anticipated series to be produced by ABS-CBN's Dreamscape Entertainment.

"Ganito ba ka-close?" Lovi wrote on Instagram.

Flower of Evil marks Piolo and Lovi's first project together, and also the actress's first as an official Kapamilya artist.

They will be joined by Robert Seña, Epy Quizon, Jett Pangan, Pinky Amador, Agot Isidro, and Rita Avila in the series. Kit Thompson, Denise Laurel, Joross Gamboa and Edu Manzano are also part of the cast.

Flower of Evil is an adaptation of the hit South Korean series of the same title. Originally starring Lee Joon-Gi and Moon Chae-Won, it follows the story of a man who tries to hide his twisted past from his wife, who is a detective — until she discovers his secrets while investigating a string of unexplained murders.

The series, which is currently streaming on Netflix, was nominated for Best Drama and Best Screenplay at the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards. Kim Cheol-kyu, who helmed the show, won Best Director, while Joon-gi won Best Actor for his role as Baek Hee-sung.

The Philippine adaptation of Flower of Evil was announced last September, when Lovi and Piolo signed their contracts as artists of ABS-CBN.

Earlier, Lovi said she considers working with Piolo—on her first project as an official Kapamilya, no less—a dream come true.

"Oh my god. Nung unang sinabi nila sa akin na I'll be working with Mr. Piolo Pascual, I was really excited and talagang sabi ko, oh my god, this like such a dream come true. I've been wanting to work with him... I'm just glad because they're trusting me with such an amazing project and of course, na makakapareha ko pa si Mr. Piolo Pascual," she said.

Prior to Flower of Evil, Lovi worked with ABS-CBN for the 2020 iWantTFC original movie Malaya, for which she earned a best actress nod at the prestigious 44th Gawad Urian Awards.

Meanwhile, aside from suspense-drama, Piolo is also set to star in a romantic-comedy series opposite Angelica Panganiban. The two have worked in the teleserye Mangarap Ka back in 2014, and in the Star Cinema movie Every Breath U Take in 2012.
