Even Maris Racal is amazed by the fact that she and her boyfriend Rico Blanco spent their first date in Las Vegas.

Recalling the first time they went out together, Maris said that she was in the middle of a US tour when Rico—who was in Miami at the time—suggested that they should meet in Vegas.

"Galing din kasi ako sa isang trip. Nagre-research ako sa Miami kasi gusto kong magkaroon ng hostel, 'di ba?" said Rico. "Tapos ikaw, may US tour ka."

"Nagkataon, meron akong five days off sa Vegas. And then ikaw... to me, it was so impossible. But ikaw nakaisip na why not pumunta ka doon sa Vegas," recalled Maris.

"'Di ba? Tapos 'yun na 'yung first date natin. Like, parang sobrang, 'What? First date natin sa Vegas?'"

According to the couple, after spending time in Vegas, they also went on a spontaneous road trip to Arizona together with a few of Maris’s friends.

"As in super saya lang nung araw na 'yun. And we took so many videos, photos. Ikaw 'yung nag-picture sa akin," recalled Maris.

"Ay so pwede na ako mag-post ng pictures ko ngayon kapag lumabas 'to?" Rico then quipped. To which Maris said: "Pwede, parang ganun. Yeah, pwede."

The couple recounted their first date in a YouTube vlog released on Tuesday, June 21, where they recalled the many "firsts" in their relationship, including their first fight, the first time they met, and who between them said "I love you" first.

"Ako ['yung unang nag-I love you]," admitted Rico. "Ako nauna. Sure ako doon."

"Tapos sobrang biglaan, like, naisip ko nun, 'Wait, agad? I love you na agad?' Teka lang, hindi pa nga ako nagpapakipot," a giggling Maris said. "Sumagot [din ako ng I love you] pero nabigla ako."

"Pati ako nagulat ako sa sarili ko. Kasi matagal ko nang hindi sinasabi 'yun eh," confessed Rico. To which Maris replied: "Sinabi mo [nga], 'Shocks, I don't do this.'"

"Sabi ko, 'Hala, bolero.' Sa utak ko, ito ba 'yung game niya? [Kasi] 'di pa kita ganun kakilala. Pero ngayong kilala na kita, sobrang weird nga na sasabihin mo 'yun agad."

It was in May last year when Maris, 24, confirmed that she and Rico, 49, were a couple, several months after they sparked rumors of a romance with the actress's birthday greeting for the OPM icon.
