When she proved her potential as an actress in sexy films like Siklo, Moonlight Butterfly, and Island of Desire, Christine Bermas said she did not need a long adjustment period to becoming one of Vivamax’s sexy leading women.

“Nakapag-adjust na ako simula pa lang nung start and wala na akong ano pagdating sa sexy kasi yung mga nagawa ko namang movies recently, hindi naman siya more on sexy. Dun talaga siya sa story nag-fo-focus. Before, nung first mahirap yung mga adjustment na ginawa ko and then after that after ilan na yung nagawa kong sexy movies ay parang nilalaro ko na lang yung sarili ko when it comes to mga sexy scenes.

“Ang problem lang talaga sa akin is pag may movie na or streaming na yung ginawa kong film and may mga sexy scenes akong ginawa dun, hindi ko talaga siya kayang panuorin. Kasi sabi ko naman sa sarili ko, ‘Ay alam ko na naman yung ginawa ko dun eh (laughs).’ Parang ayaw ko panuorin yung sarili ko pag may mga sexy scenes,” she said.

In her latest Vivamax original project Island of Desire, the former Belladonnas member plays the role of a public nurse named Martha who gets assigned to work at an island called Isla Bato, where men treat women with lust. As she experiences the people's madness, she tries to plan a way to get off the island.

“Kakaiba nga talaga yung storya niya. Halos lahat misteryoso yung mga nangyari and first time ko siyang gawin ng ganito. Actually gusto ko ng mga ganitong film. As in kakaiba talaga yung mga nangyari. and halos lahat kasi ng story is nag-fo-focus sa mind ni Martha. Super mysterious talaga halos lahat ng mga scenes namin dito,” she admitted.

Admitting she is aware of the challenge of maintaining her longevity in showbiz as a sexy star, Christina shared her strategy in order to known as more than just undressing onscreen.

“Hindi tayo dapat more on pagpapakita ng katawan, dapat aralin din natin para meron tayong skill when it comes to acting. Isang puhunan din natin yun pagtanda natin. Hindi naman habang buhay sexy star tayo. Pero kung meron tayong arte sa sarili and alam natin gawin yung trabaho natin,for sure siguro tatagal tayo sa industriya,” she shared.

After working with veteran director Joel Lamangan on the film shot in various locations in Zambales, Christina revealed she did not get intimidated with the acclaimed director unlike other actresses.

“Nag-start din kasi talaga ako kay direk Joel Lamangan. Siya ang nag-launch sa akin. Na-experience ko naman (masigawan) pero hindi naman yung super sigaw, Kaya ganun kasi gusto niya na maipakita mo pa yung ikaw talaga at alam mo sa sarili mo na kaya mo pang gawin yung hinihingi niya. Hindi ako na-intimidate or natakot. Siguro kaba kung paano ko gagawin as his actress and kaba siguro kung paano ko ibibigay yung tamang hinihingi ng director. Yung takot na may respeto kung paano mo gagawin at maipapakita sa director na ito yung gusto niya, ganun,” she explained.

As a new actress, Christine shared why she welcomes all kinds of feedback on her work. “Good or bad comments okay sa akin yun. And mas binibigyan pansin ko yung mga bad comments. Na-a-appreciate ko naman yung mga good comments. Na-accept ko rin yung bad comments kasi for me hindi siya totally a bad comment. Para sa akin, mas na-i-improve ko yung self ko sa mga ganung comments. Aware ako kung ano pa yung mga puwede ko gawin. Aware ako kung ano pa yung mga puwede ko i-adjust, especially sa voice ko. Aminado ako diyan. Kini-criticize yung voice ko when it comes sa acting. Mas accept ko yung mga bad comments kasi dun ko nakikita yung self ko na puwede ko pang i-improve yung sarili ko,” she added.
