"I've been waiting for this!" one fan commented.

"Abangan ko yan!" one fan wrote.

As per its IMDB, in Wonderland, "a virtual world where A.I. simulates reunions, a 20-year-old woman requests to meet her coma-loving lover, and a 40-year-old man requests to meet his deceased wife."

Bo-gum plays the role of Tae-joo while Suzy portrays Jeong-in. They play a couple in the film.

Bo-gum played dual roles, one is the AI version of Tae-joo and the other one is the human version. When Tae-joo wakes up from a coma, his relationship with Jeong-in faces difficulties. Jeong-in misses the AI version of himself, while Tae-joo tries to get back to normal during his recovery.

In a recent interview with The Korea Times, Bo-gum shared that he got particularly intrigued by the concept of the movie when it was offered to him.

"I wish those times will come soon. If we can meet someone we can never meet again, what would it be like? I wondered, if there was such a service, would I use it? Could I use this technology in a healthy way, or would I get completely lost in it? That triggered so many thoughts," he shared.

Many fans applauded Bo-gum's chemistry with Suzy in the film.

"I’m so pleased to see such positive reactions to the chemistry between Suzy and I. I think it’s good because this will help many viewers to watch the film in a more immersive way," he stated.

Bo-gum remarked that he had meaningful conversations with Suzy when they were working on the film as they worked hand-in-hand to portray their characters well.

"As I worked with Bae, we had chances to talk to each other a lot, sharing serious and deep conversations. There were some scenes we shot without a script, and both of us had a lot of fun. We spent meaningful time discussing with the director, taking prop photos, and building characters. I strongly hope we can meet again for another great project," he said.

Wonderland is the first big screen team-up of Bo-gum and Suzy.

The film was directed by Kim Tae-yong.

In a press conference for the movie in May, Tae-yong shared the inspiration behind Wonderland's story.

"I make video calls often. But after hanging up, I would wonder if that was really a real person I was talking to," he relayed.

The director went on: "When I meet them again, it feels like a long time has passed, yet also like I just saw them yesterday. It feels like the boundaries of relationships are becoming increasingly blurred," he continued. "This led me to consider the possibility that, unlike the past, there could be a time when even deceased people can communicate and not be truly gone."
