OPM singer Jaya, who is known as the Queen of Soul in the Philippines, recently shared her experience of being in a car accident while on her way to Regine Velasquez's concert in the United States.

She posted a video on her Instagram account, which showed the damaged car and a response team helping the victims of the accident.

“On a ride from Sacramento, California, on the way to Graton Casino to see my friends and watch Regine V's concert...when all of a sudden we get into a car collision,” the Wala na Bang Pag-ibig singer wrote in her post.

The singer then gave an update about her and her friends, who were also with her during the collision.

“My friends Dr. Josephine Weber was driving and with us was Auntie Merly Escolta (her cousin) when suddenly we got hit from the back. I am doing ok but my friends are being checked and they will be alright, by God's grace. Thank you Jesus for sending us divine protection and covering us with your blood. It could've been super worse. I'm glad Doc and Auntie Merls are ok,” the singer wrote.

She went on: “Thank you Lord for making it another day. I am grateful for your mercy and grace. Praise your Holy name.”

Jaya then ended her message by reminding everyone to be safe and always wear seat belts while driving and traveling.

“Please wear your seat belts, AT ALL TIMES WHEN YOU ARE IN A VEHICLE, especially if you're a back seat passenger. ✝️🙏🏼,” she remarked.

Alongside the video, Jaya also shared a photo of her in the ambulance and a hospital bed after the accident.

Celebrities then flooded the comments section, with many expressing concern about the singer’s current condition. Meanwhile, others shared their relief about her safety.

“Oh my… mare hope you are ok. The Lord bless you,” singer and It’s Showtime host Ogie Alcasid commented.

Beauty doctor-to-the-stars Vicky Belo also said: “Praying that everyone will be ok. No injuries to the heart and mind. May God bless you and keep you safe always.”

“Praise God you are all okay Ate Iyay. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻,”  Erik Santos commented.

“Oh my goodness, are you ok??” Regine said.

Jaya then replied: “(Regine Velasquez) Love you Mare sorry di ako nakarating sa concert mo 🙏🏼 and thank you Pare (Ogie Alcasid).”

Celebrities such as Amy Perez, Jhong Hilario, Billy Crawford, Candy Pangilinan, Jugs Jugueta, Vina Morales, and Gardo Versoza were among others who also wished for Jaya’s speedy recovery.

In 2021, Jaya and her family bid goodbye to the Philippines as they moved to the US and started a new life.

A year later, the singer shared an update on their new home after their first house was caught in a massive fire in August 2022.

“Aug. 19 is our Day 1 into our new home. Thank you to all of you who helped us in different ways. Your love, prayers, encouragement, and those who gave from the heart, we will always lift you up in prayers,” the singer wrote in a post.
