The cast of the much-awaited ABS-CBN series Can’t Buy Me Love, starring the popular love team of Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, has finally been unveiled.

On Monday, September 11, producer Star Creatives released a short clip of the script reading for Can’t Buy Me Love with Donny and Belle, together with the other cast members of the show.

“GULATIN ANG MGA BESHY, mag SURPRISE CAST REVEAL! TAKE A GLIMPSE sa SCRIPT READING ng CAST ng CAN’T BUY ME LOVE,” their post read.

Joining “DonBelle” in their new series are Ruffa Gutierrez (as Gina David Tan), Agot Isidro (Cindy Young Tiu), Rowell Santiago (Wilson Chaviz Tiu), Maris Racal (Irene Young Tiu), Albie Casiño (Charleston Young Tiu), Kaila Estrada (Bettina Young Tiu), and Joao Constancia (Carlo Tan Tiu).

Completing the cast are Nova Villa (as Lola Nene), Darren Espanto (Stephen Tanhueco), Vivoree Esclito (Pandora Daraxi Dela Cruz), Karina Bautista (Bougie Dimaranan), and Celeste Legazpi (Catherine Chang).

Can’t Buy Me Love stars Donny as Bingo, an ambitious guy working hard to support his poor family, while Belle plays Caroline, a Chinese-Filipino girl born into a wealthy and traditional family.

Cameras started to roll for the series last July 31. Earlier, director Mae Cruz Alviar — who directed the hit shows 2 Good 2 Be True and Make It With You — shared what fans can expect from DonBelle in their latest acting project.

"Ang maganda rito kasi we've seen them already ng new gen doon sa kanilang series at past movies but this is like a classic, classic love story, pero ang characters mo ay very new gen," she said.

The filmmaker was also all praises for Donny and Belle’s dedication and hard work.

"Na-impress din ako sa kanila kasi talagang they want this. Hindi sila 'yung okay nagkataon sumikat sila, nagkataon hit 'yung projects nila and then nandoon na ang yabang na, no. Sobra silang ano pa rin, they want to make this work. They want to make this work even more," she said.

Meanwhile, Donny said that starring in Can’t Buy Me Love was something he and Belle have been looking forward to.

"I think it's something we both have really prayed about, dreamed about and we can't imagine na ito na 'yon, we are really starting of course alongside an amazing director and person Direk Mae,” he said.

"And the whole cast, the whole crew, they started to tell us about like who is part of it already. It's our first time working with Star Creatives as well... We are very excited. We just can't wait. This is really a dream come true."

Likewise, Belle said that starring in the series is a dream come true.

"You know ever since, this has always been a dream of mine. Growing up I used to watch primetime seryes nga and to be able to do one, oh my gosh with Direk Mae and him (Donny), grabe! I am so excited. I cannot wait," she said.

Can’t Buy Me Love is set to air on ABS-CBN’s online platforms starting this October.
