After her sold-out concert last July, Belle Mariano continues her successful streak in the industry after she revealed that she and love team partner Donny Pangilinan have already started taping this month for their much awaited first drama series Can’t Buy Me Love.

<“We’re actually taping na. Grabe, it was so fun. Parang na-miss ko yung ganung vibe sa set na talagang direk and I were just talking about that, my character, ‘Okay, what do you want sa character mo? What do you want to make the audience feel?’” she shared during pH Care’s 20th anniversary event held last August 16 at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City.

As one of the recently launched celebrity ambassadors of pH Care, Belle shared how grateful she is for all the blessings that she has been receiving for the past few years, including another series.

“Wow, actually, I’ve been looking forward to do this teleserye, something ever since talaga I’ve been wanting to do. I’ve been wanting to lead a teleserye ever since, and I’m so glad that I am able to do that. Siguro I’d love to explore more genres, siguro or horror naman, action, maybe dip my toes into those type of roles,” she said.

Even though she and Donny have already worked together on two seasons of the rom-com series He’s Into Her, Belle said she still felt nervous when they started taping for Can’t Buy Me Love because they will be playing more serious characters this time.

“Of course, there is. ‘Di maiiwasan ‘yun, siyempre kabado ako. It’s so different this time. I even told direk na amongst all the characters I portrayed, this one is, like, really different, has a different level of maturity. I’m very excited to see that side naman na mapapakita sa mga tao. Yes, of course, there are challenges, but it’s a good challenge. I love the challenge,” she admitted.

Unlike their previous roles, Belle shared how she prepared to play a rich Chinese girl character in her new show.

“Yeah, actually, I love learning about their culture. I think ‘yun yung parang ginawa nga namin ng version, like nag-aaral kami ng feng shui, mga ganyan. It’s super fun kasi sobrang iba talaga niya sa roles na ginawa ko before. I think what I can say is my character is very empowered,” she added.
