Sharon Cuneta met with the team of her upcoming international movie The Mango Bride.

On her Instagram page, the Megastar posted her snapshot with them having dinner in the US. 

"My Mango Bride Team of Producers, my Director, my U.S. Management & Production team with me at dinner tonight! @marvisoliven," she wrote.

Fans were quick to express their excitement via social media about Sharon's upcoming project.

"Yess!!! This is it! Hollywood movie na soon ni Mega😍❤️ 👏👏👏 excited much," one fan posted.

"Can't wait to watch this movie. I got the book last year before Christmas. Ordered it on Amazon and was shipped all the way from Seattle to Germany. Happy me!" another fan posted.

The Mango Bride is based on the award-winning novel of Filipino author Marivi Soliven of the same title.

The novel follows the story of two Filipino women who migrated to the United States. Amparo Guerrero is a socialite who is banished from Manila after disgracing her family. Meanwhile, Beverly Obejas is a struggling woman who travels to the US as a mail-order bride in hopes of a better future. Their lives will intertwine in Oakland, California.

It was in February 2022 when it was announced that Sharon will be starring in her first Hollywood film.

In an interview with Variety last year, Sharon said she aims for the movie to connect Filipino stories to the global audience.

"I wanted to do The Mango Bride because it’s the best way to connect to a global audience by putting some of the best Filipino talents and stories together to tell an emotional and uplifting story like this," she said.

"I have long been a fan of Marivi Soliven’s writing, from Suddenly Stateside, her collection of light essays about living in the U.S., to The Mango Bride. She captures the Filipino migrant and Filipino American experience skillfully," the Megastar added.
