They might have been miles apart but Ogie Alcasid did not miss cheering on for his wife Regine Velasquez who is headlining a series of concerts this month in Manila.

Ogie is currently in Switzerland to do several shows in the European country while Regine is staging her concert series titled Solo at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Circuit Makati.

On his Instagram page, Ogie expressed how proud he is of his wife for her dedication to her new live shows.

"Day and night I would watch and listen to her research for songs and look for different arrangements to further embellish the songs that she has chosen. Some songs are the songs that we both listen to and some she personally was really vibing with. I am just so proud of you my love," he said.

He added: "Congratulations to you and the whole #solo team from @cacaimitra @raulmitra @paolovalenciano @mommy_de @deca28 #imusic @cpatofficial and everyone involved."

The singer admitted that it saddens him to not be able to attend Regine's Solo concert but he said that he will be cheering for her even though they are miles away.

"There is a real sad place in my heart that I could not witness your victory but alas schedules of my own tour got in the way. I am cheering you all the way from Switzerland! One more weekend of magic for #solo," he said.

Regine is set to stage two more shows for Solo on February 24 and 25 at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater.

Regine's Solo concert series coincides with her 35th anniversary in show business.

The singer catapulted to fame after winning Ang Bagong Kampeon in the 80s.

In an episode of Magandang Buhay in February, Regine shared the story of why she initially dreamed to be a singer. The Asia's Songbird revealed that she wanted to help her family.

"Unang-una kaya ako nangarap na maging singer dahil gusto kong tulungan ang pamilya ko dahil mahirap lang ang pamilya. So feeling ko binigyan ako ng ganitong boses ni Lord, eh gamitin natin," she said.

"Yun lang ang pangarap ko, 'yun lang ang aim ko magiging recording artist ako, 'yun lang. Siyempre kasama ko ang tatay ko at nanay ko, tinulungan naman din nila ako," she added.
