Juan Karlos chose to collaborate with fellow artists Paolo Benjamin and Zild for his new album. "Ako kasi when I like to collaborate with other artists, I actually like to have them also write something and have a part that they made for me. For me, that's what a collaboration means," he said.

On why he decided to put out the part one of Sad Songs and Bullsh*t first, Juan Karlos shared that he made the decision because there were 18 songs that he was able to write for the album.

"Because 18 songs are way too many songs to put in one album, that's why we kinda decided that we release the first half now and then 'cause at the same time my schedule is kinda crazy. So we also don't have enough time to be able to finally finish the second part," he relayed.
