Idol Philippines just ended its second season last Sunday, September 18, hailing Khimo Gumatay as the winner of the show. Prior to the announcement, former Idol Philippines judge Vice Ganda decided to give some words of wisdom to the winner.

“Sana mag stay ka muna sa network na ‘to,” Vice shared.

His fellow season one judges Regine Velasquez and Moira Dela Torre were visibly shocked to hear those words coming from the unkabogable star. Moira covered her mouth in surprise while Regine just laughed it off alongside Gary Valenciano.

Netizens quickly assumed that Vice was throwing shade at Idol Philippines Season 1 winner Zephanie Dimaranan who left the Kapamilya network this year. Zephanie is now being managed by Sparkle GMA Artist Center and has moved to the Kapuso network.

In the first season of Idol Philippines, it was Vice who was seen pushing for Zephanie’s inclusion in the list of finalists. Despite his remark, Vice still made his position clear and continued with his advice to all the contestants of the second season.

“Sa mananalo at pati sa lahat ng mga sumali, nagsimula na naman na ang kanilang singing career tapangan ninyo, tapangan ninyo kasi lahat maraming talent pero hindi lahat matapang kaya bumibigay agad sa mga napakaraming pagsubok na haharapin niyo,” he continued.

The 46-yeaZephanie Dimaranan urges fellow youth to exercise right to voter-old comedian revealed that the showbiz industry is not easy and there would be challenges along the way.

“Hindi easy ang showbiz, hindi ito easy money. Akala nila easy money andami mong isasakripisyo dito at lahat yun kailangan may kasamang tapang kaya tapangan ninyo,” he added.

Vice didn’t clarify whether or not he was pertaining to Zephanie’s departure from the network. Meanwhile, Zephanie’s new management indirectly responded in a Facebook post that the singer has been “sparkling” and she will “shine even brighter in the future.”
