Singer Zephanie Dimaranan is calling on her fellow youth to go out and vote in the upcoming 2022 elections, saying they shouldn't be afraid to exercise their rights and make their voices heard.

"I-make sure natin na tama at sigurado tayo sa kung sino 'yung mga iboboto natin dahil dito po nakasalalay 'yung future natin and future ng mga magiging pamilya natin in the future," she said.

"Don't be afraid to exercise your rights and one of it is your right to vote. And 'yung power ng voice natin, let's use it in a right way and in a responsible way."

It was in October when Zephanie, who hails from Laguna, announced having registered in the national elections by sharing on Instagram a photo showing her two ink-stained thumbs.

At the time, the singer also encouraged her nearly 900,000 followers to register to vote in the upcoming Halalan 2022.

"Simulan ang pagbabago sa bayan, tara tena!" she captioned the snap, before adding the hashtags #RegisterToVote and #BobotoAkosSa2022.

During the PUSH Bets Live podcast, Zephanie admitted that she hadn't thought about the qualities she looks for in a leader, but said she wants someone who is genuine and leads by their heart.

"I haven't really thought about it kasi recently medyo preoccupied din po with work. And I know na wala pa rin naman ako ganung knowledge really about everything that's been happening pero siguro po talagang sa isang leader, 'yung something na gusto kong ma-feel, whenever I see them or whenever they speak or whenever pine-present nila 'yung sarili nila, talagang makikita mo na genuine 'yung gusto nilang gawin or kung ano 'yung advocacy po nila. At talagang alam mo na puso 'yung nagpapatakbo sa kanila," she said.

"It's very ano... parang mababaw, parang ang general niya, pero I think it's really important po for me," she added.

Meanwhile, aside from politics, Zephanie also talked about her career as a singer, as well as her experience attending a bootcamp of the global pop group Now United in Abu Dhabi.
