After becoming the first Filipina to win a junior Grand Slam singles title at the prestigious 2022 US Open Championships, 17-year-old tennis player Alexandra Eala gave the tournament another historic first after giving her championship speech partly in Tagalog
In a video post by sports journalist Dyan Castillejo who covered the event held in New York City last weekend, Alex can be seen getting emotional during her speech.
Thank you,” she added.
In another post, Dyan congratulated the Pinay teen on the historic achievement and for her strong performance all throughout the tournament.
Dyan wrote: “Yessss Dreams come true with hard work dedication and the right people around you.
