Dyan Castillejo said it takes more than just good genes to keep looking and feeling healthy at 50. The ABS-CBN sports reporter said it also takes a conscious effort to always choose healthy. 'For me healthy living has two components, staying active and then eating healthy. Trying to put in good things into your body. And then also staying connected with God, spending time in prayer to be able to have a healthy spirit so that your outlook is good and you can handle stress well. So those are the things I try to do,” she shared during the GStuff branch relaunch held at the Alabang Town Center last February 25.

An avid supporter of GStuff products which are various organic products aimed at promoting 100% natural, healthy, and environment-friendly goods, Dyan said it was GStuff founder and chairperson of ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc. Gina Lopez that introduced her to the brand. 'Of course I’ve known Gina for a long time and then I’ve been with her sa provinces where some of the local communities make these products. So I saw them before hanggang sa na-package na niya, they put a brand into it na GStuff. I tried it and I just really, really love all the products because they feel very pure and then I know that if GStuff makes it it’s very clean, it’s very organic and it’s very good for you. I know this because Gina has tried every single product of GStuff. So whether it’s something for the skin which I love the sheer basic or the extra virgin coconut oil or the massage oils, just all the products I super love because you feel so good with it and then plus you feel like you’re really helping people so that’s nice,” she explained.

Aside from covering almost all the major sporting events for the Kapamilya network, Dyan said she is also as devoted to being a hands-on mom to her only son Matthew. She said her son has been exposed to her work life early in life. 'Ang ginawa ko kay Matthew, since he was a baby sinasama ko siya sa mga shoots ko so he became really active and very adventurous. Ngayon he’s so sporty so he’s playing tennis and football,” she revealed.

The proud mom also admitted that her 13-year-old looks like he wants to follow her career path. 'Right now he loves tennis so he told me his dream is to become a professional tennis player. So I’m just supporting him. Whatever he wants to do it’s up to him. It’s tough kasi nanggaling ako dun so parang amazed lang ako na mahal niya yung sport. Of course I’m so happy with this. I’ve benefited so much from living this healthy, sporty, active lifestyle. He does come with me with my work now. So eventually he wants to get into sports broadcasting but now gusto niya athlete talaga,” she added.

With her son looking like he himself could be a future heartthrob, is Dyan going to be open to let him join showbiz? 'I don’t know. Sa school niya parati siyang kasama sa mga musical productions kasi kumakanta siya. I don’t know. We’ll see na lang what happens pero I always pray na whatever he ends up doing, parang God’s will kasi. Para mapunta siya kung saan gusto talaga ng Diyos. Right now he’s concentrating on school and sports,” she shared.

As a mom, Dyan admitted she just wants Matthew to do his best wherever he may end up doing. 'I’m an active mom. I try to make my son value the healthy lifestyle so I always encourage him to eat healthy and then I always tell him to give his best. I really want my child to excel so I’m always kind of encouraging him to do his best, try hard, give 100%, eat healthy, pray, and trust God,” she said.
