Sharon Cuneta recently shared how thankful she was to have gotten the opportunity to spend a few hours with her good friend and colleague Cherie Gil last August 5 before the latter succumbed to endometrial cancer in New York and passed away. The 56-year-old Sharon had flown to the US in mid-July with Regine Velasquez for their Iconic US tour.

Last August 9, Sharon shared that she and her eldest daughter KC Concepcion had finally met up again after a year of being apart. KC flew to the US last year to study gemology after going apartment hunting in Hollywood. In her Instagram account, Sharon wrote, “A little HAPPY during days of grieving. @kristinaconcepcion”

Earlier this year, Sharon shared her excitement at KC’s being cast in the lead role in the Hollywood romantic comedy film Asian Persuasion which was shot in New York. The film stars Dante Basco, Kevin Krieder, Allan Pineda Lindo (Apl de Ap), Yam Concepcion, and Tony Labrusca and is currently in post-production.

After sharing a meal with her mom and some close friends, KC shared happy snapshots on her Instagram Stories.

KC is Sharon’s only child with ex-husband Gabby Concepcion with whom she separated in 1987 after three years of marriage. Sharon married Sen. Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan in 1996. The couple have three children together —Frankie, Miel, and Miguel.
