As the premiere for her first major teleserye draws near, Ivana Alawi said she was aware of just how important it was to do her best while shooting the series in Visayas starting last year.

“First time ko makapunta ng Masbate and sobra akong excited. Sobrang ganda ng place. Nakapag-vlog din ako dun and even the people there, sobrang marespeto, sobrang mabait. So wala akong masabi.

“I really want to go back. It’s really a beautiful place. Masaya siya. Actually nag-enjoy kami. So masaya siya. Just be yourself kung ano yung who you are,” she recalled.

In her current role, Ivana said she was challenged when it came to the dramatic scenes because of her upbeat personality.

Kasi pag umiyak ako yung pabebe lang tapos dito pag yung mga drama talagang you really have to do well and na-pe-pressure ako dun. Sabi ko oh my gosh parang, ‘Direk, pang-drama ba ako? Parang pang-comedy (laughs).’

So na-inspire din ako to do better,” she admitted.

Ivana also about how nervous she was working with her real-life crushes Sam Milby and Gerald Anderson in the project.

So parang ako na nahiya. Ayoko magbiro kay Gerald kasi professional talaga.

“He’s very, very maalaga sa co-stars niya at sa lahat so yun ang nakakatuwa sa kanya. Lahat sila actually very maalaga. Sobrang bait nila lalo na si Gerald. Kasi more on nakaka-eksena ko ngayon si Gerald recently.

Sabi ko sobrang bait naman,” she said.

Aside from pursuing an acting career, Ivana said she is also balancing her time growing her businesses with the help of her family.

“I think importante na may nag-ma-manage.

The 25-year-old actress also stressed the importance of always prioritizing her family no matter how busy her schedule can get.

“I think importante lang na may family time kami. That we don’t post everything. Siguro pag meron kaming time to vlog, hindi kami yung bawat na ginagawa namin vini-video ko. So there is still time for us for family time.

“Kapag may mga problema kami or kapag may personal issues ako, I always try to keep it and resolve it by myself.

A Family Affair  stars Ivana Alawi, Gerald Anderson, Sam Milby, Jake Ejercito and Jameson Blake. Directed by Jerome Pobocan and Raymund Ocampo. The series will premiere  on June 27, 2022, replacing The Broken Marriage Vow on A2Z, TV5, and worldwide via the The Filipino Channel.
