Filipino-Argentinian artist Chantal Videla, who now goes with the screen name Chanty, has officially debuted as part of the K-Pop group Lapillus.

The music video for their debut single "Hit Ya" premiered on Monday, June 20.

Lapillus is composed of six members from different backgrounds, namely Chanty (Filipino-Argentinian), Bessie (Korean), Seowon (Korean), Haeun (Korean), Shana (Japanese), and Yue (Chinese-American).

"One of the charming points of our group is that we’re so diverse, we come from different backgrounds, we speak many languages so if we go to a certain country, we could communicate with our fans there," she said in an interview with the Philippine media as reported by ABS-CBN News.

The Filipino-Argentinian singer added, "Each member [also] has different colors and styles, and because of that we’re able to create a very unique vibe and concept. We’re also doing our best to be able to try out as many concepts as we possibly can."

Chanty shared that the group and their agency MLD Entertainment aim to reach the global stage in the future.

"Since we just debuted, we’re going to focus on our promotions here in Korea, but our company as well as Lapillus, we have this desire to go more global and meet our global fans as well. For now, we only have English lines with the lyrics. Maybe in the long run, it could be possible [to include Filipino lines]. Who knows?" she stated.

Chanty expressed her gratitude to their fans who have been supporting them even before their debut.

“Thank you so much for your warm support. Even before our debut, we already felt your loving comments and everything, and I just can’t still believe this is my reality right now. I am here on this stage, here with all of them. This is just a dream come true for me and I just hope you keep on supporting us like forever hopefully. We will keep doing our best," Chanty said as reported by Manila Bulletin.

It was in May when MLD Entertainment confirmed that Chantal will be part of the K-Pop group after her training.
