Jake Cuenca asked his fans to support his latest film, an entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) this year, a chance.

Jake's latest film My Father, Myself is one of the eight entries to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

Despite the controversies surrounding the film, Jake shared that he feels proud of his work in the film where he plays the role of Robert, a married man who falls in love with his deceased ex-flame’s son.

In a recent Instagram post, he wrote: “Thank you po lord at nakapasok ang pelikula namin sa magic 8 ng #MMFFF2022 . 🙏 Supportahan po natin lahat ng mga pelikulang pilipino itong darating na pasko. 🎄🌈 ❤️ 🇵🇭”

Before the film opened on Christmas day, the 34-year-old actor asked his followers on social media to give his film a try despite its controversial storyline.

He wrote: “R18 po kami at hindi rin po kami ipapalabas sa SM Kaya nakikiusap po ako sa inyo to please help us spread the word and give our film a chance."

"From the bottom of my heart thank you po sa lahat magagandang reviews that have already come out about our film #myfathermyself. Magkita kita po tayo sa sinehan ngayon pasko at suportahan po natin lahat ng pelikula ngayon #mmff22 . Merry Christmas guys," he added.

Aside from being part of the cast of the ABS-CBN series The Iron Heart, Jake has also been reported to star in the upcoming action movie Visitor which is about the religious war in Mindanao directed by Filipino-American director Anthony Diaz V.

My Father, Myself also stars Dimples Romana, Sean de Guzman, Allan Paule, and Tiffany Grey and is directed by Joel C Lamangan under 316 Media Network and Mentorque Productions.
