In his ongoing endeavor to help more families during the pandemic, Manny Pacquiao said he is proud to be able to participate in the Isang Tinig, Isang Lahi - One Voice, One People free concert happening on June 26.

“This event is for the first time magkakaroon tayo ng online concert at malaking bagay ito at karangalan na nakakapagbigay ng encouragement at inspiration to all our kababayans na matagal na ring hindi nakapanuod ng concert ng ating mga singers especially sa lahat ng mga Pilipino singers na matagal ng inaabangan. Pati na rin ako matagal ko na inaabangan ko na makita na kumanta yung ating mga magagaling na mga singers sa ating bansa. So ito ay napakalaking karangalan to be part of this event at marami ding matutulungan ang event na ito, doon sa mga pamilya na affected by this pandemic. So nagpapasalamat talaga ako sa lahat ng mga organizers especially to Cory Quirino for doing her best to help the people,” he shared during the concert mediacon held last June 17.

With his sons recently getting into the limelight, especially with Jimuel recently launched as part of ABS-CBN’s Squad Plus, Manny said he would love for them to perform in the charity event as well.

“Yes gusto ko magkaroon sila ng experience sa pagkanta especially si Michael gustong gusto niyang kumanta at gumawa ng kanta. Ang gusto niya siya ang nag-co-compose at nag-a-arrange. Yung anak ko na si Michael mahilig talaga sa music. yung kuwarto niya puro gamit ng music eh. So sana makita ko sila na kumakanta sa stage,” he said.

Manny also shared just how supportive he and his wife Jinkee are of their showbiz careers. “Suportada naman namin yung mga anak namin. Makita lang namin na mabuti para sa kanila, wala kaming hadlang or tutol sa mga gusto nila,” he added.

Joining the star-studded list of performers for the concert like Lea Salonga, Regine Velasquez, apl.de.ap, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Joe Mari Chan, Ogie Alcasid, Bamboo, Maymay Entrata, Ian Veneracion, Pilita Corrales, Moira Dela Torre, American singer David Pomeranz, Manny said that aside from singing his own songs, he would also be open to doing a duet with veteran singer Pilita Corrales of whom he has been a long-time fan. “Posible naman. Maganda yan. Gusto ko yung mga kanta niya dati,” he added.

During the Isang Tinig, Isang Lahi concert presscon, Manny also gave words of encouragement for those going through difficult times since last year.

“Huwag po tayong sumuko sa buhay. Habang tayo ay buhay, nandiyan ang Panginoon na gagabay sa atin palagi at huwag tayong mawawalan ng pag-asa. Kasi kung nawalan ako ng pag-asa noon, hindi ako magiging ganito, kung ano yung accomplishment na nagawa ko sa buhay ko. So yun ang masasabi [ko]. We’re doing this event para makatulong kami sa ating mga kababayan at makapagbigay ng inspirasyon at higit sa lahat, ang Panginoon ang makapagbigay sa atin ng kaligayahan, yung saya na walang katumbas. When you have God in your life, make sure that your relationship with God is strong enough para mabigyan ka ng wisdom and peace of mind. We need God in our lives,” he shared.
