"We owe Piolo everything."

This is what Maiqui Pineda, the girlfriend of Robi Domingo, said as she and the TV host revealed that they have hunky actor Piolo Pascual to thank for their relationship.

The couple of more than two years made the revelation in a game of "Jojowain o Totropahin" as seen in a vlog released on Robi's YouTube channel over the weekend.

"So there was this party, during this Christmas. Kakatapos lang ng ABS-CBN Christmas Special nun. Every year naman, nag-aattend ako ng after-party. Pero nung year na 'yun, sabi ko, pagod na 'ko, ayoko na. But then again, this guy (Piolo)—na jojowain namin pareho—[called and] said, 'Bro, nasaan ka na?'" narrated Robi.

"'Sabi ko, 'Papa P ayoko na, pagod na 'ko.' Sabi niya, 'Mahiya ka naman. Isipin mo na lang yung oras na binigay sa 'yo, yung tiwalang binigay sa 'yo ng ABS-CBN at 'yun na yung paraan para magpasalamat ka.' After that, 'yun, umakyat ako," he shared. "In that event, I showed lots of gratitude. Doon nakita ko kung ano nga ba yung ibig sabihin ng Kapamilya, at [doon ko rin nakita] kung ano nga ba ang ibig sabihin ng pagmamahal."

Maiqui, who happened to be there at the after-party, then recalled bumping into Robi, who was her batchmate at the Ateneo de Manila University.

"So I was alone lang kasi. No, I wasn't alone, pero I didn't know anyone except Robi. Ateneo, you know, we're batchmates, but we're not naman friends. Like we just knew of each other. So I said hi to him," she said.

It was in 2019 when Robi publicly introduced Maiqui as his girlfriend.

The two have been dating for nearly three years now. They will be celebrating their third anniversary in August.

In his recent guesting on Kathryn Bernardo's "TGIS" segment on her YouTube channel, Everyday Kath, Robi shared what makes his girlfriend special.

"I [fall] in love constantly with her. Kasi there's another world na nakikita ko sa kanya. And also, she puts my feet down. 'Yun yung pinakamasarap na pakiramdam kapag kasama ko si Maiqui. Everything's real, pero lahat ng pangarap ko parang natupad ko sa kanya," he said.

"Ang paniniwala ko, love is serendipitous. Kapag dumating yung tamang tao sa tamang panahon, for me, 'yun yung perfect love. Kasi puwedeng dumating yung tamang tao pero marami ka pang kagustuhan before, iba yung priorities mo, iba yung responsibilities mo. May mga gusto ka pang maabot sa sarili mo lang, and that's okay. May dumarating din na pagkakataon, pero hindi naman siya yung perfect na tao, yung tamang tao para sa 'yo. 'Pag naghalo na yung dalawang konseptong 'yun—timing at right person—then I think 'yun na 'yun. And I think 'yun yung meron sa amin," he added.

He also admitted that he and Maiqui have been talking about settling down already.

"We've been talking about it for quite some time now, lalong lalo na we're not getting any younger. And 'yun naman yung mga inaayos ko na ngayon," he said.

"So in the coming years, you would be one of the first people who would know kung I would be bending the knee," he then told Kathryn. "I'm so excited for that one."
