Playing the role of her real-life daughter Janine Gutierrez’s parent in the recent TBA Studios film Dito at Doon, Lotlot de Leon said she was thankful to finally get the chance to work with her eldest daughter onscreen for the very first time.

“Thank you to TBA for thinking of me to play Janine’s mom in this movie. Maraming salamat. It was a one day shoot for me. I came from Batangas actually. Magkasabay lang kami ni JC (Santos) dumating sa set halos. But when they asked me if I was available, sabi ko, ‘Sure, I will always be available lalo na nandiyan yung anak ko.’ So I really wanted to work with Janine also. And then sobrang double blessing because the movie is very beautiful. Pinanuod ko siya sa Upstream and ang ganda nung kinalabasan nung pelikula so I’m very proud also to be a part of this film,” she shared.

When asked why she has not asked if her daughter has any marriage plans (Janine is currently dating former Kapamilya actor Rayver Cruz), Lotlot said she is not worried about it at all.

“Si Janine alam na niya yan, matanda na ayan (laughs). May plano na yan sa buhay niya. But I’m very happy with how she’s planned her life, kung ano yung susunod na two years for her. She’s old enough to make decisions on her own of course and I trust her. I trust that she will do it at the right time,” she explained.

More than anything, Lotlot said she enjoys seeing her firstborn pursuing a career in the same industry she grew up in.

“Nakakatuwa at nakaka-proud to see my daughter to talagang grow into this business with so much passion and love and I just really wish her the best. I know there are many, many more beautiful films that she’s going to make in the future and I’m sure there will be more pa with TBA so I’m looking forward to that,” she added.
