Although busy with her acting career, celebrity mom Dimples Romana still managed to venture into the restaurant business as she opened Alegria Singapore recently.

During her interview on the online show PUSH Bets Live, the 36-year-old Huwag Kang Mangamba actress expressed her elation over her new project. "I feel very blessed no, na I'm able to be in a group that actually believes in family, being business-savvy when it comes to money, when it comes to finances, and you know, starting young.

"And I'm so happy that we get to open Alegria in Singapore. As you know, in Singapore, they eased up a little bit. Medyo mas maluwag na sila compared to us pero hindi pa rin ako nawawalan ng pag-asa na in the coming months, we will also reach that point."

While they also have Alegria restaurants in the country, Alegria Singapore is their first branch overseas.

Having mentioned some of their Philippine branches, Dimples said, "These are all up and coming, and some are already functioning but of course, the opening, recent lang, of Singapore Alegria is quite special for us because this is the first one that's actually outside the country.

"What's nice about it is that Singapore is a perfect place kasi lalo for foodies. Mapa-Pinoy ka man, mapa-Singaporean ka man, Australian, whatever man ang cultural background mo, Alegria has something to offer for you," she said, referring to their restaurant's non-traditional Latin-American cuisines.

Dimples also shared her reflection over her latest venture, saying, "Even through the pandemic, I realized that dreams can still come true. You know, dreams can still come true, and prayers can still be answered, little by little. And our partners and I, my husband also Boyet (Ahmee), we're able to pray over it and you know, thankfully, we're now open." .

Meanwhile, Dimples, being a mother, actress and entrepreneur at the same time, shared how she is able to raise like-minded, entrepreneurial kids. Her 17-year-old daughter Callie opened her own rattan bags business last December.

When asked how she inspires her children to become business-minded or financially smart, Dimples answered, "You know, I let them be. I don't know if that makes sense but I'm the kind of mom who actually lets my children be.

"Of course I teach them together with my husband. My husband is the one who's really hands on when it comes to the family especially as you know, dire-diretso rin akong nag-serye bago nag-pandemya, di ba? So with Boyet around, it was always that we try to lead by example.

"So siguro 'yung pagiging business-savvy at money-savvy ng mga bata is because they also see us how hard we work and we always tell them na hindi naging madali ang pagpunta natin dito. Hindi ibig sabihin nito na kahit papaano nakaipon tayo ay forever ito. May mga pagkakataong susubukin tayo at ang pinaka-importante sa lahat is that you know, you learn from your mistakes, and you know how to get up. You know, not just being resilient but really more of being progressive in the sense na you have to learn how to grow. Kasi you only grow if you make mistakes and if you don't make mistakes, hindi ka madadapa, wala kang matutunan."

Aside from Callie, Dimples and Boyet also have a son named Alonzo.
