As part of the newest Kapamilya soap Huwag Kang Mangamba, talented actor Nonie Buencamino said he did not find it hard to fit into the role of the ambitious mayor Simon Advincula, patriarch of a political clan and grandfather to Kyle Echarri and RK Bagatsing in the soap.

As one of the more senior cast members on the set, Nonie said he was always open to helping mentor the younger members of the cast which includes the rest of the Gold Squad members Andrea Brillantes, Francine Diaz, and Seth Fedelin.

Dito ay isa akong mayor who will be running for governor tapos meron kaming problema as a family in terms of keeping our finances at bay. Very concerned ako sa power and money. Well hindi naman pressure sa akin na kailangan ko magpakabait. it’s the same. Natural naman yun na I’m the oldest so minsan I give advice to the younger kids. Basta naman importante ang intention eh, to make the work better, to make the scenes better. What I can do to advise tapos also when is the right time to give advice? Minsan andun ka lang nag-o-observe ka lang muna,” he shared.

Aside from feeling blessed to get the chance to act during the new normal, Nonie said he also enjoyed working with fellow screen veterans Eula Valdez and Sylvia Sanchez.

“I’m very fortunate and happy. Aside from that they’re good friends. Na-e-enjoy ko yun lalo na sa lock-in so na-ku-kuwentuhan ko sila. Of course pag ka-eksena ko sila ang sarap nung kumportable ka sa mga ka-eksena mo,” he said.
