Veteran actress Cherry Pie Picache on Thursday, March 25, revealed that she was infected by the novel coronavirus but has since recuperated from the disease.

Cherry Pie, 50, confirmed her struggle with COVID-19 and pneumonia on Instagram, as she thanked everyone who supported and prayed for her throughout her ordeal.

"I was not sure if I should post, though after reflecting and praying... maybe it will be of help, send a little ray of hope and inspiration, a way to express my gratefulness and to always simply and honestly share a concrete testimony of God’s gift of faith and to just trust His loving mercy to heal and restore," said Cherry Pie.

"To each of my prayer warriors, my family and dearest friends, my Dreamscape and ABS-CBN family, doctors, you know who you are... I will forever be thankful, grateful and I am blessed to have all your love, support and help in one of my yet again, tough, painful and scariest 3-week battle. Kahit po naging matigas ang ulo ko dahil ayaw pa-hospital," she added.

She used the hashtags #ISurvivedCovid19 and #ISurvivedPneumonia in her post, before reminding her fans and followers to #BoostYourImmuneSystem, #StaySafe #ObserveProtocols #StayHome, #WearAMask, and #DrinkYourVitamins.

Cherry Pie is the latest showbiz personality to reveal her struggle with COVID-19, following former actress Bianca Lapus, director Jason Paul Laxamana, talent manager Angeli Pangilinan, and actress Riva Quenery.

As of March 25, the Philippines lodged a total of 693,048 COVID-19 cases, with 13,095 deaths while 580,062 patients continue to recover from the disease.
