South Korean star Song Kang shared the qualities that he looks for in a project.
According to the actor, he likes to do projects that are entertaining and at the same time meaningful.
“When I am considering different pieces, I try to find the ones that are entertaining, first of all, from the audience’s viewpoint and ones that are meaningful. Going forward, I would love to show you new and different sides of me,” he stated at the press conference of his Netflix series Love Alarm as reported by ABS-CBN News.
Kang is reprising his role in the second season of Love Alarm which is set to be released on March 12. He plays the role of Hwang Sun-oh.
The series is based on the popular web toon with the same title. It tells the love story of teenagers who live in a society where a mobile app is capable of notifying them when someone has romantic feelings for them within the vicinity.
Kang also recently starred in the Netflix thriller series Sweet Home which is also based on a web toon.
“It’s not that I try to work on things that are based on web toons… As I said before, I wanted to do something that is meaningful and entertaining, and I think because series that are based on web toons have been loved by a wide audience already, maybe that’s what connects me to those series,” he said.
With the acting opportunities coming his way, Kang remarked that it motivates him more to grow in his craft.
“Working with Netflix as an actor is an honor and a joy… I always have a great time. We make great memories together so I’m just happy to work with them,” he stated.
