Former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach and reigning Miss Universe Andrea Meza of Mexico have finally crossed paths.

The latter took to Instagram to share photos of their meeting in Cape Town, South Africa.

In her caption, the Mexican beauty queen wrote: "South Africa. I’m here and today I’m spending the day with the beautiful @piawurtzbach. We finally met this morning! We are going on a Safari."

Pia, 32, is the winner of Miss Universe in 2015, making her the third Filipina to bring home the crown, after Margie Moran in 1973, and Gloria Diaz in 1969.

Meanwhile, Andrea, 27, won the prestigious pageant in 2020, besting the Philippines' Rabiya Mateo and 72 other candidates.

Both titlists are in South Africa as members of the selection committee for the 2021 Miss South Africa pageant.

On its official Instagram page, the Miss South Africa organization also shared a clip showing the touching moment that the two beauty queens met.

"When Universes Unite," their caption read.

They also posted photos and clips of the two bonding while enjoying a Safari tour at the Aquila Private Game Reserve and Spa in Western Cape.

Aside from Pia and Andrea, Tamaryn Green, who represented South Africa in the Miss Universe pageant in 2018, has also been tapped to judge Miss South Africa.

Basetsana Kumalo, who was crowned Miss South Africa in 1994, also joins the panel, along with TV and radio personality Dineo Ranaka, actress Shannon Esra, and UCT Vice-Chancellor Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng.

Meanwhile, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray is also currently in South Africa as host of the pageant's pre-show and backstage access, together with her successor, Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa.

The Miss South Africa 2021 coronation night will be held this Saturday, October 16 at the GrandWest Grand Arena in Cape Town, South Africa.
