Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach is part of the official selection committee of this year's Miss South Africa pageant.

On Tuesday, October 5, organizers of the pageant revealed the seven, all-female members of the selection panel of this year's competition, including the Filipina beauty queen and three other titleholders.

"This year we are bringing you the best of local and international great women as part of our selection panel. The first incredible woman on our all-female panel is Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach," the group said.

"Her advice to the Top 10 Finalists: 'You are you and that is your superpower. I know it’s easier said than done, but I think it’s so important to remind yourself to let the real you shine, instead of trying to portray someone on stage who you think the people and the selection panel want to see. You are part of the Top 10 for a reason. Embrace that. Having been in pageantry for quite a while made me realize that what’s inside of you matters just as much as what the audience is seeing on the stage.'"

Pia joins fellow beauty queens Tamaryn Green, who represented South Africa in the Miss Universe pageant in 2018, and reigning Miss Universe Andrea Meza. Basetsana Kumalo, who was crowned Miss South Africa in 1994, has also been tapped to join the panel.

TV and radio personality Dineo Ranaka, actress Shannon Esra, and UCT Vice-Chancellor Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng complete the list of the selection committee. Together, the seven women will pick the successor of reigning queen Shudufhadzo Musida at this year's pageant.

Aside from Pia, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray was also tapped by the organization to host the pageant's pre-show and backstage access alongside her successor, Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa.

The Miss South Africa 2021 coronation night will be held on October 16 at the GrandWest Grand Arena in Cape Town, South Africa.
