As the Metro Manila Film Festival’s (MMFF) lone horror film entry this year, director Easy Ferrer’s The Missing starring Joseph Marco, Ritz Azul, and Miles Ocampo was shot in Saga, Japan where the three characters deal with a supernatural presence inside an ancient house. In real life, the lead stars admitted that their own experiences with the unknown are all different kinds of scary.

Ritz Azul

So I think yun yung ayaw ko ng makita kasi kawawa yung sinasaniban. Ngayon I think ready naman ako any time and ready naman ako and nandiyan ang Diyos para gabayan tayo. I think naman natin kailangan matakot. Kaya rin nandito yung The Missing, kailangan natin ipakita sa mga tao na huwag tayo matatakot basta basta lalo na madaming mga bata ngayon na hindi makapunta ng banyo mag-isa dahil yung mga multo, kailangan natin sabihin sa kanila na don’t be scared, God is with you, parang ganun.”

Miles Ocampo

Matatakutin talaga.”

Joseph Marco

“Hindi ako lapitin ng paranormal experiences but I’ve had an experience where na-experience ko yung sleep paralysis. So sa sobrang pagod, I felt like there’s a giant man trying to get my comforter. I started praying, about my family kasi feeling ko talaga that’s it. Kasi ako kasi to see is to believe eh. And you will never know na ready ka until you experience that experience. So whatever it is, sana hindi ko ma-experience yung mga ganitong bagay. But you got to be ready no matter what. I think nakatulong yung experience somehow because medyo na-overcome naman whatever it is yung nakita naming possible experiences na nangyari sa Japan. So what if grabe yung nangyari sa ‘yo. But I would say na nakatulong siya somehow.”
