P-Pop girl group MNL48 marked the dawn of a new era with the release of the music video for their newest single “River.”
On Friday, November 27, the girls of MNL48 once again showcased their immense talent in both singing and dancing through a music video that also featured new senbatsus in the stunning visual.

Miko Pelino, who helmed the music video for the girls’ fifth single — “High Tension” — returns to direct the latest video of the girls.
Sharing the meaning behind the visuals, Miko said: “The concept behind the music video shows us that we should be in fighting mode when dealing with challenges. It also shows that celebrating small victories aren’t a bad thing and that we should always be ready for the next obstacle in life.”
He added: “The difference is that the music video shows how colorful life is with all the ups and downs that come with it.”
MNL48 member Abby expressed her gratitude to everyone who showed them support since day one.
“I have received so much support and love from my supporters and I’d like to say thank you, thank you for staying with me through ups and downs. I am very grateful for the support that they had given me. I am overwhelmed to have lovely people in my life. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your incredible support.”
Meanwhile, new senbatsu members Frances and Jaydee said they still couldn’t believe that they’re now officially part of the group.
“Nakaka-overwhelmed po kasi after three years of waiting, finally naging part na rin ako ng Senbatsu, and of course I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who supported me from the beginning, up until today that I’ve achieved my dream, that is to become part of the MNL48 Senbatsu,” Frances said.
Jaydee remarked: “It feels so surreal. I can't explain into words how grateful I am to be part of the Senbatsu for the first time. I'm so blessed to be part of one of the best songs of MNL48.”
MNL48 — the first idol girl group in the Philippines — debuted in 2018 through It’s Showtime. Since then, the girls have released song such as “Aitakatta,” Pag-Ibig Fortune Cookie,” “365 Araw ng Eroplanong Papel,” and “Ikaw Ang Melody.”
MNL48 also has a sub-unit called Baby Blue.
