Kim Chiu has added another prestigious accolade to her collection, winning the Outstanding Asian Star Award at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2024.

On Saturday, July 27, Kim announced her win on Instagram, sharing her excitement and gratitude with her followers.

“I got the news today! I am lost for words… beyond thankful, grateful, and extremely happy!!! I can’t believe this is happening. Thank you to #SeoulDramaAwards2024,” Kim wrote.

She extended her gratitude to ABS-CBN, Dreamscape Entertainment, and her supporters, saying, “Thank you, ABS-CBN @dreamscapeph, and most especially to my lovely supporters for all the unconditional love, support, time, effort, and much more. I am very lucky to have you all behind and beside me. Thank you for making this possible!”

Kim also expressed her anticipation for the upcoming trip to South Korea, adding, “My heart is full! MARAMING MARAMING SALAMAT PO! KOREA HERE I COME! Sa SOUTH HA? Hihi @seouldramaawards PHILIPPINES REPRESENT!”

The Outstanding Asian Star Award was determined by a global poll conducted via the Idol Champ app, with voting taking place from June 15 to July 14. Kim emerged victorious among five other prominent Asian stars, highlighting her widespread popularity and support.

The competitors for the award included Thai actors Blue Pongtiwat Tangwancharoen and Poompat Iam-samang, Malaysian actress Emily Chan, Singaporean actor Desmond Tan, and Indonesian actress Ochi Rosdiana. Kim's win underscores her significant impact and recognition across Asia.

The Seoul International Drama Awards 2024 Awards Ceremony is scheduled to take place on September 25 at KBS Hall in Seoul, South Korea. This event is anticipated to draw significant attention from the entertainment industry and fans worldwide, celebrating outstanding achievements in television drama.

In addition to her recent win, Kim has also been nominated for Best Female Lead in a TV Programme at the 2024 ContentAsia Awards for her performance as Juliana Lualhati in Linlang. This nomination further cements her status as a leading figure in the entertainment industry, showcasing her talent and dedication to her craft.

Last year, in September 2023, Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo also received the Outstanding Asian Star award at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2023.
