LJ Moreno opened up about her family's journey after her husband Jimmy Alapag was hired as a coach for the NBA.

Jimmy is currently the player development coach for the Sacramento Kings.

In an interview for TFC's BRGY, LJ shared that her husband's schedule became more hectic following his appointment as an NBA coach.

"I was definitely excited for him. I knew they would be busy but I didn't realize how busy-busy until the season started," she recalled.

Despite the busy schedule, LJ relayed that NBA has been very supportive when it comes to the families of the coaches and the players.

"The good thing about when he was promoted from G League to NBA, 'yung sa big team, is okay 'yung support ng team for the families. The good thing about it is during game days, there's a kid's room with nannies for the players and the coaches' kids," she shared.

The actress went on: "They do activities like if the guys aren't there for Valentine's Day, they would do something for the families na may watch parties."

She also highlighted that team of coaches' wives has been a good support system.

"That's one thing that helped a lot. And then the [team of] coaches' wives had a dinner to welcome me and the other wide of another coach and they were just like, 'Okay, just to warn you girls, you know, if you think the G League is busy, this is like a lot of busier. So parang ang ganda lang ng support," she said.

During Jimmy's days off, LJ shared that her husband is very helpful when it comes to their household chores.

"Jimmy when he's home, he's actually in charge of the laundry. It's funny because when the news came out here, everyone was congratulating [him] but he was actually doing laundry," she recounted.

The actress went on: "If they only knew what our life like was here, so he's in charge of laundry and siya naglalaba. Siya 'yung magaling mag-plantsa kasi for some reason when I do it parang wala namang nangyayari. Siya na lang, siya yung magaling magtiklop and everything else I do."

"But he also helps with the kids naman. That's one thing with Jimmy, whenever he has time he makes it an effort na to help out."

LJ and Jimmy are set to celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary this year.

When asked what are the keys to their successful marriage, LJ replied: "One would be just having God at the center. That's the main thing, 'cause we always talk about that because the move to the States could have broken us kasi there was a lot of challenges, but good thing before we move, 'yung foundation na namin set na."

The actress relayed that they got baptized as Christians before they moved to the US.

"We chose to be baptized right before the pandemic, before we moved so that's one thing talaga that helps," she shared.

She went on: "And then communication. And 'yun we pray together, that's like such a big thing, I think. 'Cause I always joke about it but it is true. Because I'm like: 'You know what, if I didn't love God so much I probably would've went home after a year.'"

LJ and Jimmy's family moved to the US in 2020 after the latter was offered a job as one of the lieutenants of Bobby Jackson for the Kings' G League affiliate.

It was in August 2023 when Jimmy was hired by Sacramento Kings as a player development coach.
