Maris Racal admitted that she did not expect that her onscreen team-up with Anthony Jennings would be a hit among viewers.

Maris and Anthony are currently part of the hit primetime series Can't Buy Me Love. Maris plays the role of Irene Chiu while Anthony plays the role of Snoop. Their tandem has been dubbed as "SnoopRene" by fans.

"Actually until now hindi ako makapaniwala kasi it was all unplanned. Nagkaroon lang kami ng eksena na nakaapak ako ng poop and natuwa naman ako kasi hindi naman laging may makakatambal ka na magwo-work and 'yung humor niyo and very happy ako sa support ng mga tao," Maris said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

The actress considers her role in the series as her biggest role to date.

"There are different categories kasi sa teleserye. The first I played sa 'Pamilya Ko' si Peachy Magbunga, and then ito naman, dumating si Irene. I think I can say na ito na biggest role ko sa teleserye," she stated.

Despite the sudden success, Maris pointed out that she is not pressured to become part of a love team with Anthony.  

The Kapamilya star explained: "I don't feel any pressure naman, hindi ako nape-pressure, na ha-happy ako every time may scenes kami ni Anthony."

"Parang very challenging in a good way, na gandahan natin kaysa sa last. So looking forward ako palagi," she added.

Maris said that she is pressured though by being dubbed as the "rom-com queen" of the new generation.

"Ayun 'yung nakaka-pressure! Kasi this country sobrang love nila ang rom-com parang hindi ko pa keri 'yung crown!' she remarked.

Meanwhile, in a previous interview with ABS-CBN News, Anthony said that he is open to do a spin-off series with Maris.

"Kung bibigyan ng kasunod, bakit hindi? Kung ano 'yung mangyayari, go with the flow naman kami parehas eh," he said.

The actor added: "Di lang namin inexpect talaga na aabot sa ganito."

Anthony shared that they do adlibs in their scenes in Can't Buy Me Love.

"May halong adlib, siyempre sa script sinusunod pa rin namin 'yung script of course pero once may maisip kami na ah pwede idagdag 'to na ideas, sinasabi namin kanila direk," he stated.

The actor continued: "'Pag mag-aadlib 'yung isa, hindi magpapatalo 'yung isa eh. Bigayan kayo eh."
