‘An Inconvenient Love,’ ‘Everybody, Sing!’ win big at ContentAsia Awards 2023

Kapamilya content won big at the recently concluded ContentAsia Awards 2023 held in Bangkok, Thailand on Thursday, August 24.

Star Cinema's An Inconvenient Love starring Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano bagged the Best Asian Feature Film/Telemovie award.

Ruel Bayani, Head of ABS-CBN International Production and Co-Production, accepted the award during the event.

In his speech, he dedicated the award to the team and the lead stars behind the film.

"I would like to accept this honor on behalf of our CEO and President Carlo Katigbak, Mr. Kriz Gazmen (Head of ABS-CBN Films), Zel Martinez, the men and women of ABS-CBN Films, director Petersen Vargas, and the entire team of An Inconvenient Love, and lastly our lead stars Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano and their amazing fans all over Asia, this is all for you," he remarked.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN's Everybody, Sing! season 2 , which is hosted by Vice Ganda, won the Best Asian Original Game Show award.

ABS-CBN Business Unit Head Marcus Vinuya received the award on behalf of the show.

"Thank you very much ContentAsia for recognizing our labor of love. I wanna thank ABS-CBN management for always championing this show. To all the platforms airing our program, thank you for providing us a home," he remarked.

The ABS-CBN executive also thanked Vice Ganda for being part of the program saying, "To our phenomenal host Vice Ganda, thank you for sharing your talent and gift to us. You are loved, just remember that."

He continued: "To my amazing staff and crew, production, creatives, technical, editing, our band, all our contestants for sharing their stories, all the Filipino viewers who spend their weekends with us."

Concluding his speech, Marcus remarked that Everybody, Sing! aims to highlight the magic of teamwork.

"You know, Everybody, Sing! is more than just a game show, it highlights and celebrates the fact that if we work together, this world is such an amazing, beautiful, and happier place to live in," he stated.

Other Kapamilya content nominated at this year's ContentAsia Awards included the primetime series Dirty Linen starring Janine Gutierrez which finished Silver in the Best Asian Drama for a Single Market in Asia category, and the Philippine remake of Flower of Evil headlined by Piolo Pascual and Lovi Poe which finished bronze for the Best TV Format Adaptation (Scripted) in Asia category.
