Jason Hernandez broke his silence about the dating allegations circulating on social media over the past few weeks. 

In an Instagram story shared on Saturday, June 3, the "Ikaw Pa Rin" singer clarified that the woman in his latest music video wasn't his new girlfriend. 

Jason recently made headlines after posting several photos of him being affectionate with a woman who turned out to be the actress in his music video.

“Hi, for some people this has been clarified already but I want it to also come from me: the girl in the music video is not my girlfriend,” he began, as seen in a post on his Instagram story.

According to Jason, the woman is just his friend who accepted the offer to be part of the controversial music video. 

Prior to his music video release, the OPM singer teased on social media various photos of him and the woman, which turned out to be a promotional move. 

“Her name is Sumaya McEvoy, a friend from El Nido who was game enough to shoot the vid,” he added.

In one of his previous posts promoting the song, he referred to the mystery girl as someone who saved him.

“Siya ang nag ligtas sa’kin, ang nagbalik ng aking ngiti,” he previously wrote.

Jason also confessed that he isn't seeing anyone right now, pointing out that he is still married to Moira dela Torre. 

In a statement, the singer-songwriter also opened up about their separation process.

“I don’t have a girlfriend because I am technically still married, and of course, I won’t have one while my annulment has not been finalized yet,” he said.

Apart from having Sumaya in the music video, Jason used clips from his wedding with Moira in 2019. He then drew flak from netizens over the past few weeks. 

Moira’s sister previously called him out in her now-deleted tweets, saying Jason was “too desperate” to get her sister back.
