After a surprising turn of events yesterday, May 31, various celebrities showed their support and gratitude to the long-running noontime show, Eat Bulaga!

On May 31, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon––also known as TVJ––announced in an emotional video uploaded online that they were parting ways with Television and Production Exponents, Inc. (TAPE), the producer of Eat Bulaga!

Fellow Eat Bulaga! hosts Maine Mendoza and Pauleen Luna-Sotto were among the celebrities who paid tribute to the show. Pauleen, who is married to Vic, shared how the noontime show had impacted her life.

“Hanggang sa muli, dabarkads. Maraming salamat, @eatbulaga1979,” Maine wrote.

Eat Bulaga meant so much to me. Forever grateful. #dabarkadsforever,” Pauline added.

Ruru Madrid and Bianca Umali, who are often guest hosts, expressed their sincerest gratitude towards the show and the loyal and supportive fans. The Kapuso actress recalled how Eat Bulaga! made her and her grandmother laugh all the time.

143, Dabarkads! Hanggang sa muli.” Bianca said.

Meanwhile, Ice Seguerra wrote a lengthy post to show how emotionally affected he was by the trio’s departure. Ice joined the show’s Little Miss Philippines segment years ago which eventually launched his showbiz career.

“Hindi ko naiintindihan ang nararamdaman ko. Lungkot ba o saya? Nalulungkot akong umabot sa ganito,” he said.

The singer-songwriter added that while he is sad, he is also happy for the hosts who decided to part ways with TAPE, Inc.
