K-Pop star Sandara Park explained why she prefers to be single.

In an interview for the YouTube show No Back Tak Jae-hoon, the singer-actress opened up about her views on marriage.

“Why? Do you hate men?” Jae-hoon asked Sandara.

The singer explained: “It’s not like that. I want to stay single. There are too many people around me who have experienced failed marriages.”

Sandara also shared that when she was still with YG Entertainment, the dating ban was strictly implemented which affected her dating life.

"After I debuted, all these male celebrities hit on me. Yang Hyun Suk (now former head of YG) eventually heard the rumors and confiscated all four of our cellphones because of me,” she relayed.

The singer shared that there were “plenty of sunbae" (older artists) and "hoobae" (younger artists) who attempted to date her.

In an interview with KBS JOY's Love Intervention back in 2020, Sandara also opened up about the dating ban she experienced during her time with YG.

“When I was a trainee, I was scolded for being in a relationship, and my manager took away my cellphone. Then after I debuted, there was a five-year dating ban," she said.

“I really didn’t date because they told me not to.”

The singer admitted that she only decided to date actively in recent years.

"Only recently did I make up my mind to date actively. All I needed was a will to be more assertive. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to my ex-boyfriends," she said.

Sandara Park debuted as part of the K-Pop group 2NE1 in 2009 alongside Bom, CL, and Minzy under YG Entertainment.

The group was behind the hits "Fire," "I Don't Care," and "I Am The Best," among others.

In 2016, the group announced that they were disbanding.

In 2021, Sandara announced her departure from YG Entertainment to join ABYSS Company.

Early this year, Sandara shared that she is working on a solo album.

"I will give big spoiler!!! The concept of my album will be 'Sandara Park' 😎🌴," she posted on her Twitter page in February.

The K-Pop star shared that the album will contain different genres.

She also relayed: "Actually for most of the songs, I gave the idea and producers wrote great lyrics🥹”
