The Guest director Jerrold Tarog and actor John Arcilla both expressed their excitement to work with Daniel Padilla in an upcoming film.

In a media event, director Jerrold Tarog shared what people can expect when they watch his latest film The Guest.

“It’s more of a psychological suspense thriller. And I’m kind of imagining it as a modern film noir. Marami siyang mga twists and turns. Bilang nasa puso ko 'yung kadiliman medyo mindfuck na pelikula siya,” he said during the “New Movie Alert: Daniel” event last April 27.

The talented director, whose last film was the Paulo Avelino starrer Goyo: The Boy General in 2018, admitted that he was looking forward to working with the Kapamilya heartthrob later this year.

“I’m very excited to work with DJ. Siguro, if anything, gusto ko makita hanggang saan natin puwede dalhin ang kuwento ng character niya, going into darkness,” he added.

DJ’s co-star in the film is award-winning actor John Arcilla. The latter also revealed his excitement at the new project.

“Unang una, sobrang exciting kasi for the first time, si Daniel (Padilla) ang kontrabida dito, ako ang bida. Umiikot kasi sa ganung crisis 'yung pelikula so sobrang saya. Sinabi pa lang sa akin 'yung kuwento, unang una si Daniel Padilla is the number one heartthrob sa Pilipinas. Tapos isa sa pinakabatang best actors sa Philippines," he admitted.

"At saka pangalawang importante nga pala, ito ang comeback movie namin. Pagkatapos ng Heneral Luna, ito ang first na movie nagagawin namin so sobrang exciting naman sa akin,” he added.

The Black Sheep Productions film The Guest is set to start shooting this year and is scheduled to be released in 2024.

Aside from The Guest, DJ is also scheduled to work on two other upcoming film projects, Nang Mapagod Si Kamatayan, a buddy comedy based on Nation Artist Ricky Lee’s short story of the same name, and another film with Kathryn Bernardo which will start filming next year.
