Cristine Reyes’ guest appearance on Tonight With Boy Abunda from more than three years ago once again made rounds online after rumors of her and Marco being a couple once again surfaced.

The internet has its way of digging up even those that some might perceive as having long been forgotten. Just recently, netizens came across a video of Cristine playing “Jojowain o Totropahin” on Tonight With Boy Abunda

The video resurfaced a day after Marco shared sweet photos of himself and Cristine, prompting netizens to speculate that he somehow confirmed his rumored relationship with the latter.

The said game involved flashing photos of male celebrities on the screen after which Boy would ask if she would choose the person as a friend or as a lover.

But when Marco’s name finally showed up, Cristine said she would only treat Marco as a friend because he was too young to be in a relationship with her.

Marco is 28 years old while Cristine is 34, a six-year difference.

She went on to say that it would make her look like a cougar or “an older woman seeking a sexual relationship with a younger man,” according to the Oxford Languages.

"Si Marco, we're friends. Ang bata pa ni Marco. Ano 'ko cougar?" Cristine asked.

Several netizens reacted to the video, with many saying it’s really not over until it’s over.

“Mahirap talaga magsalita ng tapos,” one netizen said.

One other netizen, on the other hand, said that a person will never really know who they are destined for.

“Nung tinanong about kay Marco Gumabao ‘tropa’ raw kasi bata pa si guy at di rin naman daw siya cougar. ‘Yung interview was 2020 pero ngayong 2023, mag jowa na sila. Hindi mo talaga alam kung ano nakatadhana sayo. Kusa nalang talagang mangyayari lahat. Ang mahalaga both sila happy,” another person said.

On Thursday, April 27, Cristine shared one of the photos Marco posted and seemingly confirmed that they are in a relationship, saying: “Def not tropa anymore. Home kasi.”

In an interview with PUSH in March 2023, Marco addressed a number of questions about himself and Cristine, including the foundation they have built as friends.

“Kami ni Cristine, we’ve worked together since 2016 actually first teleserye ko, it was Tubig at Langis and I can say that we have formed a good relationship and solid friendship throughout the years.”

While he did not confirm any speculations about his rumored relationship with Cristine at that time, Marco admitted that he and the actress have been spending a lot of time together.

“Recently, we’ve been very, very close, we’ve been working out together and hanging out a lot,” Marco said.

According to Marco, he and Cristine complement each other.

“Cristine is a very honorable person, click kami in terms of mga trip namin sa buhay, ugali namin, nagko-complement kami with each other,” he remarked.

When asked about the label of the closeness between them, he said: “Ha? Ano yon? Hahaha! Basta pag ano, malalaman n’yo naman pag ano an."
