Jane De Leon is asking fans to pray for her mother, Maricor, who recently got into an accident and underwent emergency surgery.

The Mars Ravelo’s Darna star, 24, shared the news with her fans in a social media post on Monday evening (March 13), alongside a photo of her mother in the hospital.

“Our mom got into an accident last Friday (March 10) and today is her surgery. It breaks my heart to see her in this situation. I'm doing my best to stay positive and make her smile even though she’s in pain,” Jane wrote.

The actress said she has been busy tending to her sick mother hence why she hasn’t been active on social media for the last few days.

“Sorry if I'm inactive. We are taking care of our mom,” she wrote. “I want to thank all the people who helped us. Thank you @ellemendoza_ @paulpatrickjuan for accompanying me yesterday!”

“Please pray for the success of my mother’s surgery,” she added.

Following the news, fans and friends of Jane extended their love and support to the actress, including Elisse Joson, Melai Cantiveros, Kira Balinger, and Joj and Jai Agpangan.

Just last December, it was Jane herself who was hospitalized after she tested positive for dengue and urinary tract infection (UTI). She was admitted to the hospital for over a week and went straight back to work following her recovery.

Jane was the lead star of Mars Ravelo’s Darna which ended last February after a successful six-month run. The actress has dedicated the life-changing stint to her mother and older brother who have been incredibly supportive of her after she joined showbiz.

“To my family who've been with me through my ups and downs. I'm doing this for you Mama and Kuya. The effort and sacrifices I poured in every project and opportunity is all for our family. … Mahal ko kayo," Jane said.
