Following the news of the breakup of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, the song "Sa Susunod Na Habang Buhay" started going viral on social media.

KathNiel starred in the music video of the song which was released in December 2020 by Ben&Ben.

Having worked with KathNiel for "Sa Susunod Na Habang Buhay" and in light with the recent news, Ben&Ben vocalist Miguel Benjamin Guico was asked about his thoughts about the song going viral.

"Sobrang nagpapasalamat kami talaga sa kanila, because naging bahagi sila ng isa sa mga songs na really mean a lot to us," he said in an interview with MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN News.

However, Miguel refused to comment on the breakup of KathNiel but he prays for the healing of both parties.

"On the matter of 'yung balita today, we actually prefer not to have an opinion on it, because we know that it’s personal and as all breakups are, but we pray for healing to happen to everyone," he said.

When asked how does he feel that a lot of KathNiel fans are using the song to cope with the breakup of their idols, Miguel replied: "'Yung napakaganda kasing nangyayari sa mga kanta na napansin namin sa buhay namin bilang mga songwriters so far is kahit 'yung meaning sa'yo napaka-specific, kunwari nung sinulat ko 'yun napaka-specific nung 'Sa Susunod Na Habang Buhay,' kapag nilabas mo na talaga siya, hindi na sa'yo 'yun. Magkakaroon na ng sariling buhay 'yung song."

The singer further explained: "At ngayon nangyari na nakabit siya sa nangyari, minsan ano 'yan eh nire-respeto ko 'yun at parang if it helps people go through whatever they are going through, then as a songwriter, very fulfilling siya. 'Yun lang. Praying for healing for everyone."

On Thursday, November 30, Kathryn and Daniel announced their breakup after eleven years of being in a relationship. 

Kathryn wrote: "Deej, you gave me 11 beautiful years and the kind of love that I will forever cherish. I will always be grateful for you."

Meanwhile, Daniel posted:  "I pray for us to grow, and heal. Bal, ang pag mamahal ko sayo ay walang hanggan at walang katapusan."
