Rising actor and singer LA Santos shared how he prepared for his role in In His Mother’s Eyes during the film's grand media conference at a restaurant in Quezon City last November 16.

LA  said that he really studied his character well by visiting patients and people with autism to understand how he could better portray the role of Tim.

“Inalam ko po kung paano yung buhay nila. Inalam ko po kung paano yung utak (pagiisip) nila,” he said.

“Which is for me mas nakita ko kung paano, grabe ka-pure yung puso nila. Mas grabe sila magemphatize kaysa sa atin. Kaya doon po ako ka-thankful sa movie na ‘to dahil mas naging aware ako," he added. 

The 23-year-old actor also shared how actress Ruby Ruiz helped him work on his role while filming.

“Sa totoo lang po sobrang sobrang nakatulong kasi Tita Ruby 'yung tinuro niya lang sa akin naman maging isang totoo na aktor po, na ilalabas ko kung ano ang nasa puso ko talaga," he said.

LA also expressed his gratitude to actress and director Gina Alajar who became his acting coach at the start of his journey as an actor.

In the movie, the actor portrays the character named Tim, who is Maricel Soriano's son and is diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome. Tim's mother, Lucy (played by Maricel Soriano), leaves him to work overseas as an Overseas Filipino Worker in Japan, and his uncle Bibs (played by Roderick Paulate) takes care of him.

 The rising actor also shared how the movie made him love his mother even more, admitting that he is "a certified mama’s boy," 

“Sobra. 'Di lang aminado, sobra!” he proudly said.

“Sa totoo lang para sa akin, mas nakakapogi nga 'yun eh, 'yung mama’s boy. Kasi po ano aminin ko sa inyo yung mga mama’s boy, 'yung mga sweet lover,” he said. 

“'Yan kasi 'yung pinalaki ng ayos at siyaka yan po 'yung tinuruan paano magrespeto ng babae.”

LA also emotionally shared an unforgettable time he shared with his mother, producer Flor Santos, during the grand media conference.

“Every time po na may trabaho ako, every time na lalabas ako, minimake-upan na ako ni Mommy palagi,” he said recalling a moment which said longed for as he grew older.

Flor also expressed his gratitude as a mom for the support her son has been getting. 

“Para sa isang nanay, walang gugustuhin, sabi ko, okay na ako, okay na mga anak ko. Isa lang sana gusto ko, mapakita ano ang kakayahan ng mga anak ko hindi dahil sa akin," she said. 

During the trailer release, the cast's performances and the story were highlighted, receiving positive reviews from viewers and garnering a million views.

Since the film was not included in the official entries of the Metro Manila Film Festival, it will be released in theaters on November 29, 2023. 

The family drama movie, produced by 7K Entertainment, is written by Gina Marissa Tagasa and Jerry Gracio and directed by F.M. Reyes.
