British pop star Dua Lipa made her highly anticipated comeback this November with a new single. 

She released a song titled "Houdin," accompanied by a music video shared by the "Levitating" singer on her Instagram account.

In the video, Dua Lipa is seen standing in the middle of a crowded room, with flickering lights creating a disco-like effect. The singer, who has recently rocked a new red hair look, looks stunning and ready to take the music world by storm once again.

She penned the post: “⛓️HOUDINI! OUT! NOW! EVERYWHERE! So it begins... thank you for your patience. The first release from my upcoming album🫀 feeling so filled with love and joy to get to do this with "the band" (@tameimpala @dannylharle @carolineailin @tobiasjessojr) and to share this moment with the world. Thank you to the absolute dream team who made this video with me 🔐❤️ bruises sweat n tears!! worth every moment!!! I hope you love it as much as we've loved making this for you.”

The Grammy-award-winning singer last released her hit full-length album, Future Nostalgia, in 2020. It featured hit songs. such as "Levitating" and "Break My Heart."

A few months ago, Dua Lipa left her fans curious when the 28-year-old artist suddenly deleted content on social media. This sparked speculation about her new era as an artist. 

Early in November, Dua posted cryptic teasers hinting that the concept for her new single was inspired by Harry Houdini, the famous magician and escape artist.

In an interview with BBC Radio 1, the singer shared: "The song is essentially about knowing when to stay and knowing when the right time to leave is."

"I think a lot of that comes from getting to know yourself, becoming really confident in the fact that, you know what, you deserve that kind of thing," she added. 

As per Billboard, Dua’s new song “establishes a deep, neck-snapping rhythm as its foundation and then the song adds star-crossed synths, call-and-response harmonies, and fuzzed-out riffs.” 

The singer has worked with producers Danny L Harle and Tame Impala.

In a press release, Dua wrote: “This track represents the most light and freeing parts of my singledom,” she continued, “‘Houdini’ is very tongue-in-cheek, exploring the idea of whether someone is really worth my while or if I’ll ghost them in the end. You never know where something may take you, that’s the beauty of being open to whatever life throws your way.”

The music video for "Houdini" has received 10 million views in less than 24 hours since its release.

Dua then shared her gratitude to fans who enjoyed her new single with a series of photos and videos during a fan event. 

She captioned: “what a weeeek!!! Thank you for all the love on HOUDINI!!!! 🫀🫀 Last night I got to do a fan event in the very room where we shot the music video at the english national ballet to do the first play on earth!!!! A dream night with the best people!! Thank you to everyone who has made this release super super special ❤️❤️❤️❤️ let's keep on dancinggggg!!!!”

In an interview with Variety last year, the "Dance The Night" singer expressed that “it’s taken a complete turn as I’ve carried on working, and I really feel now that it’s starting to sound cohesive.”

“The album is different — it’s still pop but it’s different sonically, and there’s more of a lyrical theme. If I told you the title, everything would make sense — but I think we’ll just have to wait," she remarked.

Dua previously released a hit single, "Dance the Night," along with producer Mark Ronson for the soundtrack of the top-grossing film, Barbie. 

She also teamed up with Meghan Thee Stallion for the 2022 popular song, Sweetest Pie.

The singer will have three surprise launch events in London, Los Angeles, and Tokyo for her new song.v
