Actress Matet De Leon gave her followers an update about her relationship with her mother, veteran actress Nora Aunor, on her latest YouTube live last Saturday, January 7. 

Matet revealed that she and her mother have reconciled following the controversy that surrounded their relationship as mother and child.

Matet revealed that it was Nora who initiated the reconciliation.

“Nag chat sa akin si mommy na sana maging maayos na, maging okay na kami, na sana kasi bagong taon [kaya] kalimutan na natin yung mga nangyari nitong nakaraan,” she shared.

The 39-year-old entrepreneur added that she had wanted to reconcile with her mother even before Christmas. 

“Bago mag-Christmas, I wanted to send mommy a message na maayos na pero nauna si mommy na magchat sa akin. I think that’s God’s way para maging maayos ang lahat,” she revealed.

Matet quickly noted that she accepted the apology as she also wanted to have peace in their family. 

“Who am I not to say yes to that and (not) to agree with her? Ang Diyos nga nagpapatawad. Ang mali ko lang doon, sinabi ko na hindi ko na siya kakausapin. Hindi ko pala kaya,” she said.

Her YouTube live came after she spoke with her mother in a vlog. She later on went to share that her anger drove her to make such rash decisions to cut off her mother from her and her family’s life.

“Kami ni mommy ko ay nagkaayos na. Nakita na nila, nag-upload na ng video si Kuya John. I think I spoke too soon when I said I didn’t want to talk to her anymore… See what anger can do?” she reflected.

It was back in December 2022 when the actress revealed she no longer wanted to talk with her mother after directly competing against her food business. 

Matet previously shared how betrayed she felt after Nora asked her to promote her business.
