Kapamilya actor Carlo Aquino opened up about relationship rumors with actress Charlie Dizon last Friday, January 6,  in an interview with MJ Felipe. The actor simply answered that they are currently dating and getting to know each other more.

The two have been rumored to be dating after photos of them visiting La Union surfaced online.

Carlo revealed that their romance began when they returned to the Philippines after the Star Magic US tour last year. The two previously worked together on the teleserye, A Soldier’s Heart, but were only friends back then.

“Nagkasama kami sa 'A Soldier's Heart.' Nagkakilala kami doon. Tapos nag-US tour, mas nakilala ko siya. Pag uwi, ayun (tuloy-tuloy na)," he shared.

The 37-year-old actor also confirmed that Charlie joined his family trip to La Union during the holidays. The two were spotted in a restaurant frequented by the actor and their photos trended online as the actress’s hand was on Carlo’s shoulder and both wore matching dark shades and white outfits.

“Yung brother ko di nakauwi from Sydney at saka yung wife niya ng two years dahil nga sa pandemic. So pag uwi nila, yung mga relatives ng sister-in-law ko pumunta," he shared.

He revealed all of this during the press conference for Star Magic’s partnership with Mavx Productions. Carlo is currently starring in a film with Barbie Imperial called I Love Lizzy which will be released this January 18.

Carlo maintained that they are both still getting to know each other more . The two are also starring in Black Sheep’s Love on a Budget which has yet to be released.

Prior to their La Union trip, Carlo and Charlie were spotted at a holiday dinner with some of the actress’s friends. Various netizens and celebrities have expressed their support for the couple.
