Anthony Jennings reveals why he is always kilig: ‘Hindi pa ako na-ha-heartbroken’

Anthony Jennings made his acting debut in the 2019 Star Cinema blockbuster Hello, Love, Goodbye playing the role of Alden Richards’s youngest brother. This was followed by his first major role as one of the leads in the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Love At First Stream. This year, the Fil-British actor takes on another acting challenge in the premiere episode of ABS-CBN’s new show called Love Bites. In the episode “Lost But Found,” Anthony gets paired with his current Tara G! co-star Vivoree Esclito.

“Nagkatrabaho na kami before ni Vivoree pero hindi siya love team pero kahit papaano meron na na-build na unting chemistry. Alam na namin kung paano kakapain ang isa’t isa. Importante yung friendship (off camera) kasi papatayin niya yung awkwardness. Pag kilala mo na yung tao alam mo na yung joke na ibabanat mo sa kanya sa eksena, alam mo na kung papaano mo siya papatawanin, alam mo na yung patok na humor sa kanya. So I think mas maganda kung kilala niy na ang isa’t isa and si Vi alam ko na kung paano siya pasayahin eh,” he admitted during the Love Bites presscon held last September 14.

In real life, the 21-year-old RISE artist shared he has yet to actually experience heartbreak but is enjoying the real-life kilig because of a special someone about whom he did not reveal much details.

“Ako kasi parang hindi pa ako na-ha-heartbroken eh. Wala pa naman akong na-experience. Pero minsan may times na pag may makikilala kang someone parang mas makikilala mo rin ang sarili mo. Na-experience ko na siya at oo naman nakakakatulong siya (sa pag-arte). In a way like sa eksena focused din talaga ako sa craft ko, sa acting. So may mga scenes din talaga na kailangan mong kiligin and may inspiration ka na gawin yun. So lumalabas din siya sa screen talaga,” he explained.

“Marami pa eh. Ang dami ko pang gustong gampanan na roles like ngayon nga iniisip ko na gusto kong mag-action, mag-action star. Isa rin yan sa mga pangarap ko din na talagang gawin in the future hopefully. Gusto ko rin kasi matuto eh. Like ang dami ko pang hindi alam gawin. Madami pang character na kailangan ko talagang aralin. So I think kailangan ko din mag-workshops and mag-aral ng ibang tao na nakakasama ko sa buhay ko. Feeling ko isa yun sa makakaangat din sa craft na gusto ko gawin, sa acting,” he said.
