Bugoy Cariño admitted he and his partner EJ Laure almost had their child aborted after finding out the latter was pregnant with their first child.

In an interview with broadcast journalist Karen Davila, Bugoy opened up about how his fears of putting his showbiz career at risk almost led him to the decision of having his first child with EJ get aborted.

At the time of EJ’s pregnancy, Bugoy was only 16 while EJ, then 21 years old, was playing volleyball for the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Tigresses.

Bugoy said he was supporting his family at that time, making it hard for him to just let go of his life then and become a dad.

But Bugoy eventually realized that he would commit sin should he push through with his decision to go with abortion.

“Kapag pinalaglag ko pala ito, parang itong yung isa sa pinakamalaking kasalanan na magagawa ko sa buhay ko,” he said.

After a conversation he had with his father, he finally had the courage to come up with a decision that changed his life forever.

Pag pinalaglag mo yan, di ka tunay na lalaki,’” he said.

EJ eventually agreed to keep the child as well, forcing her to temporarily stop playing volleyball.

Meanwhile, Bugoy also defended his partner from critics who called out the latter for having a relationship with him despite being a minor.

Magbabago din isip nila,” he said.

In the said vlog, he also shared that he put up a water station as well as did online selling to support his child.
